I had the opportunity of being the Visual Media and Digital Communications Intern for the non profit Animal Shelter Wayside Waifs in Missouri. Wayside Waifs is one of the biggest No Kill Animal Shelters in the US and it was such an honor to help carry out their mission of protecting and caring for these amazing animals. Throughout my journey here it was amazing to connect with these animals on a deep level and help them become adopted and start their own journeys as well. I not only connected with staff but with each and every animal who was housed at the shelter. It was truly an amazing and rewarding experience.

For my duties through the internship I helped with Web Design/Editing, Social Media Graphics/ Animations, Event Posters, Photography, Videography, and Marketing. I had such an amazing time utilizing a very diverse set of skills alongside my fellow interns. I hope to continue volunteering here at Wayside Waifs in the future to help ensure that the animals find their perfect fur-ever homes.
